MIKE HOAGLAND EDITORIAL
All of you have heard me discuss the Brevard Republican Executive Committee (BREC) and the relationship to the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF). What I have not discussed is my personal observations on the activities of the RPOF. Well, it’s time. The RPOF terminated Rick Lacey as our BREC Chair. Now, not everyone was pleased with Rick Lacey but no one gets 100% likeability. He did support and make efforts to successfully have republican candidates elected. So why was Rick removed? My opinion is because Rick took two actions that did not sit well with RPOF. Since our state committeeman, Randy Fine does not attend the monthly BREC meetings against the RPOF rules, Rick put forth a vote to the BREC membership to have him removed so that a new representative could be selected. The vote was approximately 96 to remove to 15 to remain. Rick, also, put forth a resolution to the membership which requested legislation to ban the transfer of funds of political action committees (PAC) from one PAC to another. This was overwhelmingly approved. This conduct amounts to money laundering as after 20 to 30 transfers one can’t determine who is contributing to who. Corruption results and has.
These two actions resulted in the Randy Fine Cabal having Rick removed. Of course, the RPOF gave Fine a pass on the BREC membership request to remove Fine and select a representative who would actually attend the BREC board and monthly meetings.
The RPOF has removed Republican Executive Committees and/or their Chairs, not only in Brevard, but Manatee, Broward and Charlotte counties. Again, ask why? My opinion is that America First MAGA conservative voters unapologetically support President Trump’s agenda. I come to this opinion by researching the republican leadership in the state. There is not enough space to list all the conflicts that exist. All the players early on, supported Donald Trump and he has rewarded those who did. Joe Gruters is now the RNC Chair. His sexual harassment allegation investigation was buried by the republican leadership. Gruters was a Trump supporter since 2016. Now he has his reward. He represented Sarasota and Manatee counties when he was a representative. I believe Manatee REC has Lara Trump as their annual event speaker because of Gruters.
I would hate to think President Trump is aware of the RPOF purge of MAGA supporters and has permitted this corruption to continue. If he knew that certain republican leadership contributed to democrat candidates who were competing against republican candidates, would he put up with their conduct? Joe Gruters, RNC Chair is listed as running for Florida CFO against incumbent republican Blaise Ingoglia. How is this permitted by RPOF? Please go to “Coastal Conservative News.com or Brevard News.com. “We the People” can make a difference with our votes.
I have listed a few reasons why our republican dominant senate and legislature won’t allow legislation on election integrity, home rule rights, property tax reforms or curbing energy policy supported by energy companies that push for extreme green energy policy. The governor is effectively neutered because the legislature is veto proof. When we support a candidate, that person must have the courage to do what is right.
