DeSantis Press conference in Brevard County with Sheriff Ivey about his Immigration plan to help Trump.
Yesterday we posted an article about how the Corrupt Florida Legislature gaveled out Governor DeSantis’ immigration bill and then went to work to pass the own watered-down bill with many flaws. Here is the link to that story. The Corrupt Republican controlled Florida Legislature is undermining the Trump Immigration Agenda – Ultra MAGA Patriots
In yesterday’s post we expressed our continued disappointment with the Florida so-called Republican Legislature. Today Governor DeSantis held a press conference with our own Sheriff Ivey outlining all the flaws of the legislature’s replacement bill. Every MAGA Patriot should watch todays press conference and decide for themselves. We believe We the People will see what the legislature is doing again and that is bowing to We the Money developers and business interests.
Hats off the Sheriff Ivey for supporting MAGA and the Governors bill which truly would help the Trump Agenda. So, you decide. Here is the video link we suggest you all watch as well as an article about the news conference. We suggest you call your florida Legislators and demand they support Governor DeSantis’ legislative proposal.

To a crowd of supporters and press Wednesday morning, Gov. Ron DeSantis blasted the new immigration reform bill passed by Florida Legislature, continuing the battle between the governor and the leaders of the Republican-dominated Legislature.
At the press conference held at the Brevard Country Sheriff’s office in Titusville, DeSantis said the new legislation would hinder his ability to marshal law enforcement agencies around the state to execute deportations. He promised to veto the legislation when it reaches his desk.
“We have a charge to keep. That is to end the illegal immigration crisis once and for all,” DeSantis said. “This bill is weaker than what we have today.”
The Florida governor claimed lawmakers are trying to protect access to illegal labor for employers and were being deliberately weak on the policy in their design of this latest law.

Ron DeSantis was in Titusville early Wednesday morning at the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office north precinct to hold a round table discussion on immigration with Sheriff Wayne Ivey, Nikki Jones, whose husband was killed in a car accident involving an undocumented immigrant, and Dave Kerner, Director of Florida Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles.© MALCOLM DENEMARK/FLORIDA TODAY
DeSantis on Tuesday was flanked by Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Director Dave Kerner and Nikki Jones, the wife of a man who was killed as a result of a traffic collision with an undocumented immigrant in 2019.
DeSantis’ objections revolved around the bill’s requirement that law enforcement agencies coordinate with the Department of Agriculture on all immigration matters.
DeSantis has said on social media that the bill “creates a conflict of interest by having the agriculture commissioner – who represents special interests that traditionally oppose strong immigration enforcement – run enforcement operations” and “gives enforcement power to a bureaucracy not capable or equipped to handle it.”
He argued that the move has “the fox guarding the henhouse.”
“If you’re really serious about immigration enforcement you’d want to empower us to do the job,” DeSantis said. “They want to neuter the interior enforcement that were already doing.”
He called for deputizing state and local law enforcement to carry out deportations and immigration enforcement rather than turning over suspects to federal agencies.
DeSantis also accused the architects of the newest legislation of trying to stop deportations by designing the bill to curb the governor’s powers to take action.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey was emphatic in his support for DeSantis, saying that Florida’s sheriffs are “ready to rock and roll” when legislation is passed.
Kerner lamented that the legislature ignored his concerns over the bill’s shortcomings. Many state and local agencies are already working together on immigration, but the bill’s requirement to go through the Department of Agriculture could hinder those efforts, he said. .”This bill frustrates those relationships,” Kerner said. “To put that roadblock in our way will have a devastating effect.”
Controversy around immigration has come back into the fore after the inauguration of Donald Trump last week. Since assuming the presidency, Trump has led a nationwide crackdown on undocumented immigrants and even issued an executive order taking aim at birthright citizenship. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has even taken to publicizing its daily total of arrests, which has tallied more than 4,500 since Thursday.
The Legislature titled its bill the “Tackling and Reforming Unlawful Migration Policy,” or the TRUMP Act.
DeSantis repeatedly said Wednesday that Republicans in Florida’s legislature were undermining Trump’s agenda on the issue, accusing them of turning Florida into a “de facto sanctuary state.” “If you’re really serious about immigration enforcement you’d want to empower us to do the job,” DeSantis said. “That’s how you fulfill the mandate.”
As of Wednesday morning, Trump hadn’t weighed in on the battle between the governor and the legislators.
